 LAKE OF THE OZARKS AMATEUR RADIO CLUB MINUTES

July 13, 2022

The meeting was called to order by Steve Bouck KDØSB, Vice President, at 7:00 pm.

Introductions: There were 15 members and 1 guest present.

New Members: There were none.

Minutes: A motion to accept the minutes of the June 8, 2022 meeting as amended were made by Ernie Venus WØLTC and seconded by Ron Campbell AEØJA. Motion passed.

Financial Report: There were receipts of $27.50 for the 50/50 drawing and no disbursements in the month of June. Current Balance General Fund-$2,753.28 and Equipment Fund-$985.46 Grand Total-$3,738.74

Standing Committee Reports

REPEATER: Bruce Bramon AEØIQ had nothing to report on the 2-meter repeater. Scott Poest KB9KGU reported that the DMR repeater is working fine and there were no major updates. He discussed Echo link with Ralli Mottar W9TPA. He had found a unit for a cost of $400 that would be custom built. There will be more discussion about this next month.

TESTING LIAISON: Steve Bouck KDØSB reported that the three who tested last month all passed. There is one testing tonight.

WEB PAGE: Jack McGuire WJØTM reported that the webpage is up to date. The ARES meeting to be held the first Wednesday of every month will be added.

POTA: Steve Eden KØSRE reported that a Support Your Park plaque event is available this weekend. This weekend will be a good weekend to ramp up your contacts.

EMERGENCY NET: Ernie Venus WØLTC reported 3 check ins on 146.730 at 10 am and 2 check ins on 146.955 on Wednesday, July 13. Ernie reported there are some problems with the 146.955 repeater.

10 Meter Net: There were 15 check ins on 28.410 at 9 pm on Tuesdays in June 2022 (Larry Ciccinelli K3PTO).

2 METER NET: There were 45 check ins on 146.73 at 9 am on Saturdays in June (Steve Bouck KDØSB).

July Net Control: Fred Groce KØFG

August Net Control: Steve Frakes KAØSF

September Net Control: Jack McGuire WJØTM

OLD BUSINESS: The items remaining in the Club House have been pretty much all taken care of thanks to Bruce Bramon AEØIQ. The books from the front desk are at the home of Dale and Cheryl Bland (KEØYFL and KDØEYQ). If anyone is interested in any of them, please call us. The remaining books will be taken to the Camden County Museum Book Sale in August. Items need to be removed by July 31. The chairs are allowed to stay.

NEW BUSINESS: Gary Welsh NØRIJ has resigned at the repeater trustee. Fred Groce KØFG will be the new repeater trustee.

Field Day results were discussed. Fred Groce is gathering points and bonus points. Samantha Henley KEØLMY is reporting to ARRL. Ernie Venus WØLTC will be reporting to ARES. He also said that ARES will be meeting every month. Steve Bouck has the reports if anyone is interested in seeing them. Buford Casebolt KFØEAO reported that it was hot and humid but that no one got heat stroke. They could not have done without the air conditioner. He also said that the trailer should be kept. Fred Groce had the QSO points and that information was passed around to all present. Bruce Bramon brought up reimbursing Buford Casebolt for his expenses, such as the food and the porta potty. Buford Casebolt said to not worry about it this time, but may want to think about it in the future.

Sickness and Injuries: Gary Sundstrom KE5JTL and his wife both have COVID.

Ham Equipment for sale or swap: Ernie Venus reported that he has a HF and VHF power supply and tuner from Bill Otts.

Announcements: Steve Bouck announced that there were a lot of people on for the 13 Colonies contest. He was able to get all of them. Jack McGuire reported that he got all 13 but not the extras.

A note was received from Samantha Henley, Camden County EMA, thanking the club for having her speak at our club meeting last month and that she is looking forward to working with the club.

The Eating Meetings for the next two weeks will be at Val’s in Laurie.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:28 pm.
