AMATEUR RADIO CLUB MINUTES

November 9, 2022

The meeting was called to order by Gary Sundstrom KE5JTL, President, at 7:00 pm.

Introductions: There were 14 members and one guest present.

New Members: There were none.

Minutes: A motion to accept the minutes of the October 12, 2022 meeting as received was made by Dale Bland KEØYFL and seconded by Bruce Bramon AE0IQ. Motion passed.

Financial Report –

Standing Committee Reports

REPEATER: Fred Groce KØFG reported that the 2-meter repeater using the back up Motorola Controller. The controller is not doing a good job. There is a problem with the power supply. A new power supply may need to be purchased. Fred Groce and Bruce Bramon AE0IQ will be testing tomorrow.

TESTING LIAISON: Steve Bouck KDØSB reported that there was no testing last month and one will be testing tonight.

WEB PAGE: Fred Groce KØFG reported that Judy McGuire was not having a good day. Jack McGuire WJØTM is a bit behind on the webpage but will soon get up to date. Judy had hip surgery and is recovering.

POTA: There was no report.

EMERGENCY NET: It was unknown how many check ins on 146.730 at 10 am and on 146.955 at 10:10 am on Wednesday, November 9.

10 Meter Net: There were 16 check ins on 28.410 at 9 pm on Tuesdays in October 2022 and 6 check ins last night (Larry Ciccinelli K3PTO).

2 METER NET: There were 48 check ins on 146.73 at 9 am on Saturdays in October (Larry Ciccinelli K3PTO)

November Net Control: Bruce Bramon AE0IQ
December Net Control: Dale Bland KEØYFL

OLD BUSINESS: Fred Groce KØFG asked if anyone had heard from Gary Fenstemaker’s family. Gary Sundstrom said that he would contact them.

NEW BUSINESS: Bruce Bramon AE0IQ reported on the Nominating Committee consisting of Bruce Bramon, Steve Bouck and Cheryl Bland. The Nominating Committee was actively trying to recruit nominees for office. The elected officers will take office on January 1, 2023. Larry Ciccinelli is interested in President, Ron Campbell in Vice President and no one has stepped forward for Secretary/Treasurer. After discussion, nominations from the floor was opened for the office of Secretary/Treasurer. Fred Groce KØFG and Dale Bland KEØYFL expressed interest in the office. Fred Groce withdrew his interest. No other nominations from the floor were made and nominations were closed. Members voted unanimously to elect Larry Ciccinelli, President, Ron Campbell, Vice President and Dale Bland, Secretary/Treasurer. Gary Sundstrom KE5JTL said that it was a pleasure to be President for the last two years. Some changes were made during that time and it was up to members to decide what they want to be done. He appreciated participation and helpfulness from members.

Fred Groce KØFG reported that in May of 2021 there was a Missouri QSO party and that Ray Myers operated CW for our club. Debbie Myers does not want the plaque so it will be displayed at the Clubhouse.

Sickness and Injuries: Fawzy Simon KDØYHI is now home. Frank Galinski NØLRG is a candidate for a pacemaker and may be having another shock treatment soon.

Ham Equipment for sale or swap: Fred Groce KØFG has Ray Myer’s Gap Titan DX Model 25’ vertical antennae for sale for a couple hundred. It is brand new and still in the box. It works all eight bands.

Larry Ciccinelli K3PTO has Heath kits that were in the garage to give away to anyone who is interested. Boxes have been opened but should have all items. There are also books used for training. There is also a digital rain gauge, mugs and an ash tray. Feel free to take anything that you are interested in tonight.

Announcements: The Christmas Party will be held on Saturday, December 10 at 6 pm at Just A Little Diner in Camdenton. There will be a choice of steak or chicken and sides, etc. The cost will be $25 per person. There will be no regular meeting on Wednesday, December 14.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:29 pm.
