AMATEUR RADIO CLUB MINUTES

May 10, 2023

The meeting was called to order by Larry Cicchinelli K3PTO, President, at 7:08 pm.

Introductions: There were 15 members and 3 visitors present.

New Members: There were no new members.

Minutes: A motion to accept the minutes of the April 12, 2023 meeting as received was made and seconded. Motion passed.

Standing Committee Reports

REPEATER: Bruce Bramon AEØIQ reported that the 2-meter repeater is working fine.

TESTING LIAISON: Steve Bouck KDØSB reported that there are four testing tonight. The General test questions will be the same for May and June but will be updated by the FCC after June 30.

WEB PAGE: Jack McGuire WJØTM will be updating the members pictures when he can get them.

POTA: No report given.

Emergency Net: There were no check ins on 146.730 at 10 am and no check ins on 146.955 at 10:10 am on Wednesday, May 10, 2023.

10 Meter Net: There were 29 check ins on 28.410 at 9 pm on Tuesdays in April 2023 (Larry Cicchinelli K3PTO).

2 METER NET: There were 44 check ins on 146.73 at 9 am on Saturdays in April (Fred Groce KØFG)

May Net Control: Ron Campbell AEØJA
June Net Control: Larry Cicchinelli K3PTO
July Net Control: Need a volunteer

OLD BUSINESS: Field Day planning was discussed. Ron Campbell AEØJA passed out a sign- up sheet for when people would be available to set up, work and take down. Lights will be needed for the canopies for night operation. Jack McGuire WJØTM has the radios and has tested them on 20 and 40 meters. One other radio has CW. Ron Campbell will be bringing handouts for our next meeting. Larry Cicchinelli K3PTO will send out an email to who will be working during Noon on Saturday and he will provide lunch from McDonald’s per their request. Steve Bouck KDØSB will be buying the barbeque and two sides for the Saturday evening meal. He is requesting that members bring dessert and lawn chairs.

Dale Bland KEØYFL gave an update about the DMR repeater. He had contacted the Assistant Chief, Mid-County Fire Department, and he said that he is waiting for information from their internet provider, Whisper, as to the possible installation of our DMR antennae on their tower in Greenview.

Dale Bland KEØYFL reported that the Equipment and Liability insurance were approved for payment. He also said that the books from the Club House are still available for viewing by members if anyone was interested. If not, they will be soon donated.

NEW BUSINESS: There was none.

Sickness and Injuries: There was none.

Ham Equipment for sale or swap: Paul Rumford K6IMZ has equipment for sale or give away in his vehicle for members.

Larry Cicchinelli K3PTO has more coax to give away.

Announcements: Steve Bouck KDØSB reported that the first part of May that it is required to have RF radiation figures at their facility for FCC review. And there are resources on the ARRL website and videos on YouTube to help.
