OLD BUSINESS:

Disposing of the generator and antennae poles was discussed. Jack McGuire WJØTM in interesting in purchasing. They are hardly ever used except for field days. Members have generators that could be donated for use on field days and Jack will allow us to use for field day. A new generator would be around $425 and Jack bought one just like this generator for $275 in 2005. Our generator is at least 10 years old. The poles are going for $20 on surplus. A motion to accept Jack McGuire’s offer of $175 for the generator and $5 per pole was made by Dale Bland KFØYFL and seconded by Larry Ciccinelli K3PTO. Motion passed.

Fred Groce said that there are two 450 Kenwood radio that were also in the trailer. These could be sold as well since they are not being used. They are here at the building. Two telescoping poles have been brought to the building since the club is getting rid of the trailer. Fred Groce will research values of remaining items and report to the members. Discussion on disposing of the existing radio stuff will be tabled for now.

NEW BUSINESS:

Options for the upcoming Field Day on June 24 to 26 were discussed. Members want to participate in Field Day and options of where to have it were discussed. It could be held at the club house with tents which might have potential issues or be done in the building with auxiliary power outside in the parking lot. Terri Myers house in Climax Springs has land. There is a travel trailer there which has electricity but public viewing of operation might be a problem. The Missouri Department of Conservation area could be used again if our own equipment, tents, etc. were brought in and public facilities are available. The Camdenton City Park was also mentioned. Gary Sundstrom asked for a volunteer to be in charge of Field Day. This issue was tabled until our next meeting.

Gary Sundstrom reported that he would be doing the 2 meter net on Saturday here at the building and would be here around 8 or 8:30 am.

Fred Groce reported that he would come to the building to operate an HF station and to let Gary Sundstrom know if you were interested.

Larry Ciccinelli reported that he could use the building for the Tuesday night 10 meter net if anyone was interested.

Jack McGuire WJØTM reported that the preamble for the 2 meter net is on the webpage.

Ernie Venis reported that Sam Henley, Camden County Emergency Management Director, is interested in primarily ARES members to participate in an upcoming weather spotter class at the EMA.
