Standing Committee Reports

REPEATER: Fred Groce KØFG reported that the 2-meter repeater seems to be working just fine. The internal power supply went bad so it is being run off a MFJ4245 45 amp power supply. It seems to be working fine running off this power supply. Keep doing this as long as it is working instead of shipping the repeater off to have a new power supply installed in the repeater. Fred Groce has this power supply and is willing to sell it the club. It is listed as $249 retail but he will sell to the club for $100. Ron Campbell AEØJA made a motion to purchase from Fred Groce and was seconded by Bruce Bramon AEØIQ. After discussion with Jack McGuire WJØTM stating that he will give the club one from an old computer that he has that will work. If it does not work out, the club could always buy the one from Fred Groce. Fred Groce rescinded his motion.

TESTING LIAISON: Steve Bouck KDØSB reported that there was one person in November who passed their Tech test and was to be here to test for General tonight but he is not here yet.

WEB PAGE: Jack McGuire WJØTM reported that the webpage is up and running. He said the he was sorry that he had gotten behind. If anyone has anything to add to the webpage, please let him know. Larry Ciccinelli K3PTO said that he was not aware that the club had a Facebook page until recently. Jack McGuire said that Scott Poest KB8KGU had set it up a while ago and he takes care of it.

OLD BUSINESS: Gary Sundstrom KE5JTL said that he had not heard anything from Gary Fenstemaker’s family.

NEW BUSINESS: The Missouri Repeater Council yearly fee is now requiring payment thru a PayPal account. Fred Groce KØFG paid for this year’s dues since the Club does not have a PayPal account. Setting up a PayPal account for the Club was discussed. A credit card or bank account needs to be linked to the PayPal account. Larry Ciccinelli commented that Club dues could be paid by members through the account. There is a fee to use PayPal. Club dues can also be mailed. It was decided that it would not be feasible to set up a Club account to use PayPal.

Sickness and Injuries: Fred Groce KØFG asked if anyone had heard from Ralli Motar lately. He had left a message for him but he had not called him back. Jack McGuire WJØTM had heard from him about a week ago. Fred Groce had also gone to Mitzi Chase’s service last week.

Announcements: Larry Ciccinelli K3PTO discussed Field Day in June. He said that the Club needs to decide what we want to do by the February meeting and members need to be thinking about it. Options were discussed. Last year’s Field Day was hosted by Buford Casebolt and Teri Myers. Buford and Teri enjoyed hosting last year. The Conservation Department and the Camdenton City Park were discussed. How many people are needed overnight in case of bad weather was discussed. Community visibility and involvement was discussed. The decision in February should include who will coordinate the event, the place it will be held, set up, advertising, etc.

Larry also asked what else the Club can do to increase community involvement and participation. Options were discussed.

A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Steve Frakes KAØSF and seconded by Bruce Bramon. Meeting adjourned.
