Club Info

Lake of   the Ozarks Amateur Radio Club, (LOARC), was founded in 1983, and has remained an    active part of the Lake area community ever since. The club holds regular monthly meetings on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00pm, at the Mid-County Fire Protection District building, located at 184 N. Bus. Rt.5, Camdenton MO.                                                                                                   The club holds classes on a variety of subjects related to Amateur Radio, taught by knowledgeable members, and participates in community events whenever possible.  Each year its members also         participate in the annual ARRL Field Day contest which tests their ability to setup and operate an Emergency Communications Post, off grid, in whatever conditions Mother Nature doles out.                  LOARC maintains and operates a 2 meter repeater located at Sunrise Beach MO. and hosts weekly and monthly net meetings.                                                                                                                   LOARC also maintains a staff of ARRL Accredited Volunteer Examiners, (VEs), and a supply of testing materials for members of the community who wish to acquire an Amateur Radio license and for those wishing to upgrade.

Thanks to those who have carried the torch for the last 40+ years, LOARC continues to play an active role in the Lake of the Ozarks community by participating in these events and providing its public members these services.
